Life as a student at Stockholm Business School

Hej hej!

I hope all of you have had a wonderful week where you were able to get a lot of things done. I definitely were this week, when we finished our first course of the second semester. The first course of second semester, which takes place in Uppsala has flown by! The course Responsibility Analysis that covers the issue of sustainability reporting merely did only start four weeks ago and it finished already.

The focus in this course is on group work, where you are able to work together on scandals within our corporate society and analyze the aspects of corporate social responsibility, corporate governance and more. Consequently, we only covered four lectures that were given in the beginning of the course and had to prepare reports and give presentations. As a final exercise, a thesis that was in the interest of responsibility had to be made. Hence, a lot of work had to be done in a short amount of time, which made it sometimes quite hard to perform on your best. An example: the course started on a Tuesday and the lecture ended at the end of the day, while the next seminar was on Thursday where we had to hand in a well written report and give a presentation. Moreover, many Swedish students work besides their studies making it sometimes quite hard to meet. However, we survived and that is what counts: we managed and made the best out of it. 🙂

Hence, in this course, besides developing your understanding in analyzing Corporate Social Responsibility and everything that comes along with that term, you develop yourself in working under time pressureteamworkpresentation skills and in giving feedback.

Now we have a “holiday” of 3 days until the next course: “Auditing regulation” starts! I am very motivated to start the next course and rock it. I will keep you updated about the progress in this course! 🙂

Ha en bra fredagskväll!
