It’s finally starting feel like spring here in Stockholm! The snow is gone, days are getting longer and over the past week or so we have enjoyed daily sunshine and temperatures rising near 10 degrees. I feel the sunshine has lifted everyone’s moods and the lovely weather has been very inviting for spending time outside. I am no exception and this week I’ve tried to take in the sunshine and be outdoors as much as possible.
On Friday me and my friends decided to open up the season of outside fikas and ended the school week with coffee at Mellqvist Kaffebar near Mariatorget. Mellqvist actually has blankets and heat lamps on their terrace so you can comfortably enjoy your coffee in the sun even though the temperatures are not that high yet. This is also the case with many other cafes and bars with terraces in Stockholm which I think is pretty cool!
There are also great ways to enjoy the awesome weather near campus. My recommendation is to take a walk near the beautiful Brunnsviken which is a lake near the university; Kräftriket campus is located directly by it and it’s also only a short walk away from the Frescati campus. There are also plenty of nice picnic spots around. That’s what we did this Saturday as we celebrated my friend’s birthday with a picnic by the lake. The lake was shimmering in the sun, the picnic table was filled with food and drinks and the company was great, making it a perfect afternoon.
Have a great week everyone! Let’s hope it’s another sunny one! 🙂
