Stockholm Favourites, part 2

Hello again!

Last week I started listing my favourite spots in the lovely city of Stockholm and now it’s time to continue! Here are some nice options for going out and meeting up with friends in the city.

For drinks

Bara Enkelt (Medborgarplatsen)

This cozy little bar on Skånegatan is a perfect choice for a drink or two as the prices are very student-friendly (29SEK for beer and cider) but the atmosphere is still really nice. Definitely one of my favourite places in this price range.

Marie Laveau (Mariatorget)

Marie Laveau has a bit of everything. Their Love Food Café serves lunch on weekdays, they have a restaurant open for dinner every night of the week plus a brunch on the weekend mornings. The bar is also open every night of the week. In addition there’s a nightclub located downstairs which is open on Fridays and Saturdays. The place has a chill but cool vibe that I like and I just keep going back.

For a night in town

Under Bron / Trädgården (Skanstull)

This place under the Skanstull Bridge is a two-floor club during the winter (Under Bron) and open air party venue during the summer (Trädgården). According to many, this is the coolest place to go out in Stockholm and I would agree. This is also one of the rare places in Stockholm that is open until 5 am instead of 3 am.

For a cup of coffee

Café String (Medborgarplatsen)

Apart from Espresso Houses you can find all over the city, Stockholm is full of nice independent cafes. I’ll just mention one of my favourite’s here: Café String. It’s a really cozy place, perfect for leisurely fikas with friends. One special features is that in addition to drinks and food you can also buy the furniture you’re sitting on. They also have a brunch buffet on weekends that I’d love to try out sometime.

Stockholm is a big city with a lot to offer so these are of course just a few personal favourites that came to my mind. If you have some other Stockholm favourites, feel free to leave a comment and share them!

Until next time,

Meri
