Life as a student at Stockholm Business School

Competitive program? Welcome to SBS!

Hello,

this week I wanted to talk to you about one of the reasons that made me choose to study at SBS over a lot of business schools.

SBS is really competitive when it comes to admission. If you are wondering what are the chances to get into a bachelor here are the full statistics:

BAPS (Business Administration and Political Science)
Number of applicants in round 1 (application deadline January 15): 877
Number of admitted students in round 1: 35

Acceptance rate: 3.99%
Number of applicants in round 2 (application deadline April 15): 2,460
Number of admitted students in round 2: 65

Acceptance rate: 2.64%
Global Management
Number of applicants in round 1 (application deadline January 15): 1,036
Number of admitted students in round 1: 59

Acceptance rate: 5.69%
Number of applicants in round 2 (application deadline April 15): 3,186
Number of admitted students in round 2: 162

Acceptance rate: 5.08%

Bachelor’s programme in Business Administration, taught in Swedish
Number of applicants in round 2 (application deadline April 15): 4,469
Number of admitted students in round 2: 280

Acceptance rate: 6.26%

Full statistics can be found on statistik.uhr.se

As you can guess the acceptance rate is really low! If you want to compare those statistics to other schools in the world, you could take Harvard that is considered the most selective school in the world with 5.9% acceptance rate this year! (Of course, the number of applicants is definitely bigger).

If you are looking for a challenging academic experience you just found it! One of the asset of applying for SBS is that there is no admission test. The admission process is based entirely on your high school grades. If you did great in H.S. you don’t need to worry about taking another exam 🙂

If you are worried about those statistics I would just suggest you to apply and see what happens. I thought I would never make it, but it turned out that I was amongst 35 other individuals that made it. Life is always interesting and full of surprise.
